Smart shopping during Black Friday: 3 tips for cat parents

Black Friday is coming, and it's going to be crazy again. Online stores are overflowing with discounts, shopping carts are overflowing, and everyone's hunting for the perfect bargain. Chances are you already have something in mind, or your wish list is ready to be ticked off as soon as midnight strikes. But amidst all that shopping for yourself... have you thought about your cat? Whether it's a brand-new scratching post or just a stack of boxes for your cat to snuggle in, your cat can join in the fun this Black Friday.

Where does Black Friday actually come from and how can you use it to score something nice for your cat?

Where did Black Friday come from?

Black Friday originated in the United States, the day after Thanksgiving. Stores wanted to kick off the holiday shopping season with deep discounts, and it became a worldwide tradition. The name Black Friday refers to the moment when stores went "out of the red" (losses) and "into the black" (profits). Today, all stores participate, from electronics to pet stores.

What can you do for your cat on Black Friday?

For cats, Black Friday means only one thing: new boxes. Okay, and maybe an extra soft bed, a tall scratching post, or a catnip toy. But behind all the fun extras lies something important: Black Friday is the perfect time to invest in quality.

Consider a sturdy scratching post that will last for years, instead of a wobbly model that breaks after a month.
Or a wall unit where your cat can safely climb and lounge. Perfect for curious cats who love to look at everything from above.
And how about a cat house where they can retreat for naps or simply relax undisturbed?

3 tips for cat parents

Compare with your head
A low price isn't always a good deal. Pay attention to the quality of the materials, the stability, and the reviews, especially for scratching posts or larger furniture.
Shop for the long term
A high-quality scratching post is an investment that pays for itself. Less chance of damage, more fun for your cat, and more peace of mind for you.
Think comfort and style
Black Friday is the perfect time to make your interior and your cat happy. Choose colors and designs that complement your home so you don't have to hide anything when guests come over.

The best thing about Black Friday: gifts for yourself and your cat

We've all been there: you order something for your cat, and they mostly play with the packaging. But when you give them something they'll truly love—a new climbing frame, a cozy sleeping spot, or a sturdy scratching mat—you'll see the difference immediately. They'll be more active, happier, and your furniture will finally stay scratch-free. That's a win-win.

Your cat deserves a good deal too

Whether you're a fanatic shopper or prefer to relax and browse with a cup of tea in your other hand, Black Friday is the perfect time to invest in your cat's happiness. Choose consciously, buy smart, and enjoy your new purchases. In other words: Black Friday isn't about more stuff, it's about better stuff.
